Haute Couture dye is ready to use and very practical. An all-in-one box comes with dye, salt and fixer. Here is how to use it in your washing machine in 3 simple steps:
1
  • Weigh the fabric while it is still dry to ensure you have enough dye.
  • Carefully wash the fabric several times, especially if it is new, and check that its initial sheen has completely disappeared.
  • Put on rubber gloves, empty the contents of the sachet(s) into the drum (not in the detergent tray or directly onto the fabric).
2
  • Once you've poured the powder into the drum, gently shake the drum so that the powder passes through the holes in the drum to avoid contact between the powder and the fabric.
  • Turn the dry fabric inside out and put it into the machine without folding it.
3
  • Do a 40°C cotton wash straight away (without a prewash)..
  • Once finished, add laundry detergent and do another standard wash at 40°C for around 2 hours.
  • Remove the fabric, add laundry detergent and do another wash at 40°C to clean the machine.
  • Dry clothes without putting them in direct sunlight or a direct heat source

TIPS BEFORE AND AFTER USE
  • Always check the fabric composition (see above).
  • Use on clean (washed), even (stain-free), and untreated fabric (wash fabric 2 or 3 times before dyeing).
  • Consider the original fabric color, as dye colors mix. For example, dyeing blue fabric yellow will result in green..
  • Weigh the dry fabric to determine how much dye to use (more fabric = lighter color; less fabric = darker color).
  • Dosage: one 300-gram jar of dye allows you to dye 300–400 grams of fabric in a dark shade and 600–800 grams in a lighter shade.
  • The amount of fabric to dye should not exceed half of your washing machine’s drum capacity and should not be over 2 kg.
  • Always wear household gloves and an apron when using.
  • Read the instructions carefully before use and ensure proper ventilation if dyeing by hand.
  • Always wash dyed fabrics separately in lukewarm water using a “color-safe” detergent.
2
WASHING MACHINE INSTRUCTIONS
(for polyamide))
  • Carefully pour the powder into the bottom of the drum, and if possible, pass the powder through the drum holes to avoid direct contact between powder and fabric.
  • Add dry, clean fabric.
  • Set the longest and hottest cycle (minimum 80°C), no pre-wash, normal load. Set the spin cycle to the gentlest setting.
  • At the end of the cycle, remove the dyed fabric and dry away from sunlight or in a tumble dryer.
  • Run a regular empty cycle with detergent to rinse out any remaining dye residue.
3
HAND DYEING INSTRUCTIONS
(for wool, silk, and polyamide)
  • Pour the dye contents into a container with 1 liter of lukewarm water. Stir for a few minutes until completely dissolved.
  • Pour the solution into a heat-safe container, then add 7 to 10 liters of cold water.
  • Pre-wet the fabric in cold water and immerse it fully spread in the dye bath. While stirring constantly, heat until gently boiling and maintain a simmer for about 20 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and continue stirring the fabric until the bath is nearly cold.
  • Remove the fabric and rinse in cold water until the water runs clear.
  • Dry away from sunlight.
  • Thoroughly clean the container and do not use it for food afterward.
