Dyeing my grandmother's doilies
You can transform these delicate white doilies into objects of envy in any room of your house. Grab your favourite dye to colour them and treat yourself or others!
They’re lightweight so add a tea towel, towel or other clothes to your machine. Dyed doilies are full of surprises because they’ll brighten up your desk, table or dresser in the blink of an eye. You can, of course, match them to the atmosphere you want to create.
With our 33 dye colours, all you need to do is take some time to look at the colour of your curtains, cushions, sofas, armchairs or even plant pots. The result is sensational and the emotional connection to these pieces from yesteryear will transport you to a cosy, warm space.
Tips and ideas for dyeing:
. Consider adding a doily when dyeing your jeans, dresses or bed linen.
. Leave the doily to dry flat in the shade, especially if it is very large.
. Other cotton crochet pieces can of course be dyed: net bags or crocheted shopping bags, throws, storage bags, clutch bags, baskets, hats, mittens, scarves, swimming costumes, tank tops or tops, or dresses.
